Headline: Distinguished guest Engr. Prof. Dr. Enrique Nava Brao (University of Malaga Spain) Coordinator European Union (EU) projects of Pakistan visited NUTECH Islamabad
Engr. Prof. Dr. Enrique Nava Brao coordinator European Union Projects of Pakistan from University of Malaga, Spain and the coordinator of the project “ICT Applications for sustainable environmental protrction (ACTIVE)” funded by the EUROPEAN UNION ERUSMUS+ CBHE Horizon 2020 visited NUTECH on May 15, 2023.
About the project: The ACTIVE project is a unique initiative aimed at bridging the gap between ICT engineering and environmental sciences in Pakistan. The project is centered around capacity building and interdisciplinary training to leverage ICT for addressing pressing environmental and climatic challenges that urban and rural areas face in Pakistan. By collaborating with partner universities located across the country, diverse environmental concerns specific to each region will be uniquely addressed. The ACTIVE project also aims to design and develop novel solutions related to climate change and to launch new MS degree program titled as “Sustainable Integration of Environmental Development with ICT” in NUTECH and in consortium HEIs.
About the visit: During his visit at NUTECH Islamabad on May 15, 2023, Engr. Prof. Dr. Enrique Nava Brao was welcomed by Rector NUTECH Lt. Gen ( R) Moazzam Ejaz . Further he was briefed about NUTECH setup, various programs offered, specialization and achievements of NUTECH. The project progress on various work package was delivered by project core team members Engr. Prof. Dr. Almas Anjum & Engr. Dr. Marium Jalal; further various aspects and action plan on project work packages was also discussed and presented. Prof. Brao also visited NUTECH Labs, Library and other NUTECH facilities. Prof. Brao also explained in detail about the project implantation, EU policies procedures about execution of the project including project management, technical aspects, role of various team members etc. The visit will undoubtedly be etched in the annals of academic excellence as a milestone, reinforcing the NUTECH’s commitment to advancing knowledge of environmental concerns and fostering a spirit of collaboration in related fields.
Rector NUTECH Lt. Gen ( R) Moazzam Ejaz had fruitful discussion with Prof. Brao about future collaboration between NUTECH, UMA Spain and European Union and shared various aspects of collaborations with him. At the end Rector NUTECH presented souvenir of NUTECH to Prof. Nava.
